Since the introduction of centrifugal casting technology by Dimitri deLavaud in the 1920's, forged molds have become the optimum option which enables the casting process to produce quality DI pipe at a competitive price.

Patriot supplies forged alloy steel pipe molds to the U.S. Ductile Iron Pipe industry in sizes from 100mm (4") thru 300mm (12"). In addition to supplying pipe molds, our on-staff experts will help you in the manufacture of DI pipe utilizing the centrifugal process. Factors such as iron chemistry, speed of production, cooling characteristics of the casting machine, and many other aspects can be analyzed in order to increase and prolong pipe mold life.

Pipe molds are forged to shape under our 1,250 and 3,000 ton open die presses and rough machined to heat treat configuration on our CNC machines to insure constant dimensions of required contours. All forging and heat treatment processes are designed and overseen by a dedicated team of experienced metallurgists in order to ensure maximum pipe mold life. Bar code scanning of all orders at every stage of production ensures accurate, up-to-the-minute tracking.

Repair welding is another important area in which Patriot can assist customer efforts. Consult us for advice concerning the welding of bell and spigot ends. Proper maintenance procedures can be outlined to improve mold performance.
